Means to fix MediaTemple DV upload error problem
June 16th, 2012
After tugging my hair out for any couple of days, I finally found an answer for an problem where WordPress shows and upload error in if you try to upload media towards the media library. The issue happens once the apache user can’t email a folder with permissions set to 755 (if I am explaining that properly). After getting in touch with MediaTemple, they explained to me which i could set my plan to use FastCGI rather than Apache. I drenched into Plesk, sailed to my Monthly subscriptions, then released the user interface for that connected domain. One in to the C-Panel, I clicked on online & Domain names, then clicked on around the domain. Under Web Scripting and Statistics, I transformed PHP Support from Apache module to FastCGI application. Then, I restarted my service and voila…I am not uploading images towards the media library under 755 and never 777, that is a security risk. For that instructions, visit here: http://wiki.mediatemple.internet/w/(dv)_4.:Enable_FastCGI You might want to develop a command line operation to create your folder recursively to 755, however i did not need to do that. It simply labored. Now, my three full times of killing myself attempting to figure this out has ended! I’ll be applying this across my sites. BTW, to 4.. You will find similar instruction for 3. and three.5, but it is far simpler with 4..
